Intensive Therapy in Columbus, OH
Give your healing the time it really needs.
You’re tired of hearing “we’re out of time for today” right when the session is feeling like it’s going somewhere.
You’re actively doing the work—trying to understand yourself and show up differently—but have hit a ceiling in your healing journey. Those 50-minute sessions are limiting, even after showing up week after week, and it feels like you’ve only addressed the tip of the iceberg. Being self-aware hasn’t been enough to create the change you’re hoping for. You're ready for a different approach—one that gives you more time and space to go deeper.
An intensive may be right for you if you…
Have spent years in therapy and still struggle with shame, self-doubt, or a fear that you’re not enough.
Work hard to keep up appearances while feeling like the proverbial swan—gliding along, while paddling frantically underneath.
Know there’s grief and loss you have yet to process, from the death of a loved one or the marriage and kids you thought you’d have, but you never find the time to be with it.
Are at a crossroads in your life and need to integrate what you’ve been through before you can move forward.
Feel held back by survivor’s guilt from a traumatic loss.
Want to date, but find yourself avoiding it because you’re afraid you’ll once again end up feeling stuck in a relationship that isn’t right for you.
Insight has only gotten you so far, and you know there’s more to explore and process—you just need the time and space to do it.
Intensive therapy is a personalized, extended format that gives you the time and space you need to create the lasting change you’re looking for.
What is Intensive Therapy?
Sometimes an hour just isn’t enough time to be with what’s unfolding in therapy. Intensives give us longer stretches of uninterrupted time across days, allowing the work to build from one day to the next instead of repeatedly starting and stopping week after week. That additional time creates room to explore what you may only begin to notice in a traditional therapy hour.
Our work together will go beyond just talking about what happened or understanding your patterns intellectually. I take an approach that considers both mind and body. We’ll pay attention to your moment-to-moment experience—your thoughts, emotions, body responses, and the ways you move toward or away from connection with yourself. As we slow down and bring awareness to your experience, we create more room for connection with yourself and access to new ways of living your life that feel more grounded, confident, and alive.
We’ll also bring curiosity to the ways you’ve adapted, what may be driving the need for those strategies, and how those patterns play out in your relationship with yourself and others. We’ll support new ways of being that align with your intention for our time together.
How it Works
Schedule a free 30-minute consultation call.
Together, we’ll talk through what you’re hoping to achieve and whether an intensive is the right fit. We can discuss the process without any pressure or obligation.
01
02
90-minute pre-intensive interview.
We’ll clarify your intention for our time together, and gather information that will inform our work.
Your personalized intensive guide.
About a week before your intensive, you’ll receive a questionnaire and guide customized from our pre-intensive conversation. You can use this to reflect beforehand and jot down new awareness, insights, or anything you want to return to during or after our work together.
03
90-minute post-intensive integration session.
One to two weeks after your intensive, we’ll meet to reflect on what you’re noticing from our work together, support additional integration, and consider what would be helpful moving forward.

FAQs
-
An intensive is an extended form of individual therapy held over consecutive days instead of a traditional 1-hour session. We have several hours at a time to stay with what’s unfolding and allow the work to build across multiple days. It’s designed to support work at a deeper level and can be especially helpful when you want dedicated time away from daily responsibilities to focus more fully on your healing.
-
Weekly therapy sessions can mean starting and stopping, sometimes just as something especially meaningful is beginning to emerge. Intensives give us more uninterrupted time to stay with your experience, follow what unfolds, and allow the work to build across several days rather than waiting until the following week.
-
Intensives aren’t recommended for those currently in crisis or struggling to manage day-to-day routines.
-
Intensive therapy is highly personalized and can be shaped around what you most want for yourself from our time together. Some examples of what we can work on in our intensives include…
Unprocessed grief
Building more capacity to be with emotions that have felt overwhelming or difficult to tolerate
Uncertainty at a crossroads in your life
Repeating painful or unsatisfying relationship patterns
Feeling exhausted and empty

Therapy intensives offer more time for the way I already work, integrating NARM® and Somatic Experiencing®. We’ll explore in real time - thoughts, emotions, body responses, and moments of connection or disconnection with yourself. This allows us to work with both cognitive understanding and your moment-to-moment experience, with more time to follow what emerges.
-
Research on some trauma-focused therapists suggests that treatment delivered in a more concentrated format can be as effective as the same treatment delivered weekly. That doesn’t mean intensives are better, faster, or the right fit for everyone.
While there isn’t research specifically on NARM or Somatic Experiencing in an intensive format, what an intensive does offer is more time to focus on your therapeutic intention without being limited to a traditional therapy hour.

Yes. Therapy intensives are held in person in the greater Columbus area and may be available to clients traveling from other states. Availability depends on where you live and whether I’m licensed or otherwise authorized to practice in your state.
-
Yes. An intensive can enhance and build on the work you’re already doing with your current therapist by giving you dedicated time to focus more deeply on a specific theme, pattern, or challenge.
