Lisa Gillispie, LPCC, NARM™ Master Therapist, SEP
With over 25 years as a trauma-informed bodyworker before becoming a counselor, I have a long history of supporting people going through challenging times and that background informs my counseling practice today.
In my counseling practice, I use both NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) and Somatic Experiencing to help adults address the underlying dynamics that drive issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Both of these approaches include the body in the therapeutic process which helps address symptoms from a more holistic, integrative perspective.
I work collaboratively with clients, integrating both mind and body to get to the root of what’s driving behavior patterns that no longer serve them. My clients are looking for help to:
get relief from the anxiety that keeps them up at night
shift patterns keeping them stuck and unsatisfied in their relationship or career
avoid repeating painful relationship patterns
establish meaningful, supportive relationships
be available for emotional and physical intimacy
be able to be in the present moment without feeling like there’s a fire alarm going off in the background 24/7
set healthy boundaries without feeling guilty
navigate life without constantly feeling overwhelmed
get relief from shame, self-judgment, and self-hatred
I have completed the certificate programs in both Somatic Experiencing, a body-oriented approach to working with trauma, and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for working with attachment and developmental trauma.
If you are looking for support in navigating life challenges and want to experience more calm, more ease, and less overwhelm, I invite you to contact me to see if my approach would be a good fit.
